2nd Council Meeting
held on 14–17 October 1992 in Bad Gastein (Austria)

Delegates from Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czechia, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.Decisions included

• a yearly collection and distribution of data on all ankylosing spondylitis societies existing world-wide;
• an agreement on the free reproduction of the societies' literature in the newsletter of another society; and
• a meeting of the Executive Committee held about half a year before the next Council meeting to prepare the agenda.

The office of an ASIF secretary was added to the constitution. Prof. Ernst Feldtkeller (Germany) was elected as ASIF vice president, and Anita Berg (Sweden) as ASIF secretary. Nils Linholm (Canada) was elected as a member of the Executive Committee.The Canadian delegate proposed an ASIF logo including the world globe.
